Terms of Service
The short version: ArsenalDB is record-keeping software that runs on your device. Your data is in your custody, not ours. Paid tiers are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. The software is provided as-is, and it is not legal advice — you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your firearms.
1. What ArsenalDB is
ArsenalDB is a web application (a PWA) for keeping personal firearms records — inventory, photos, documents, maintenance, range sessions, and transfer records. It runs in your browser and stores everything on your device. There are no accounts and no ArsenalDB servers. By using it, you agree to these terms.
2. Your data, your custody
You have sole custody of your data. It lives in your browser's storage, and any backup is a file that you create and keep. That means:
- Back up regularly. Your device holds the only copy. If the device is lost, damaged, or its browser data is cleared, we cannot recover anything — we never had it.
- Your data is never held hostage. Viewing, exporting, and deleting your records are never locked behind payment. If a license check fails, is revoked, or you simply stay on the free tier forever, your data remains fully accessible to you.
3. Free tier, Pro, and Pro+
The free tier supports up to 5 firearms with core record-keeping. Pro ($9.99) and Pro+ ($19.99) are one-time purchases — lifetime unlocks tied to a license key. No subscription, no renewal, no recurring charge.
- Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; their terms govern checkout and refunds.
- Activations: a license key can be active on up to 5 devices (Pro) or 10 devices (Pro+). Clearing a device's browser site data uses up an activation slot, so deactivate first when you can: Settings → License → Remove frees the slot for another device. Out of slots? Email hello@arsenaldb.com and we'll reset them.
- Your key is yours: for your own use. Don't publish, share, or resell it.
- Refunds and revocation: if a purchase is refunded or a license is disabled, paid features may re-lock. Your data stays accessible either way (see §2).
4. Record-keeping software, not legal advice
ArsenalDB helps you document what you do; it does not tell you what is legal to do. In particular, the Bill of Sale wizard produces a printable record document with signature lines for pen-and-ink signing — it is a template and a record, not legal advice, and not a guarantee that any transfer complies with the law. Firearm sales and transfers are regulated by federal, state, and local law, which vary widely and change. You are solely responsible for compliance — including background-check and dealer (FFL) requirements where they apply. When in doubt, consult a licensed attorney or a licensed dealer before transferring a firearm.
5. Lawful use
Use ArsenalDB only for lawful purposes. Don't use it to facilitate transfers or possession that you know to be unlawful.
6. AI features
Pro+ AI features (Gun Identifier, AI Valuation, Armorer assistant) run on your own Anthropic API key, at your initiation, and your use of that key is billed by and governed by Anthropic's terms. AI output is an estimate, not an authority: identifications can be wrong and valuations are not appraisals. Verify anything that matters before relying on it.
7. No warranty
ArsenalDB is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss. Browsers, devices, and storage fail — that's what §2's backups are for.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ArsenalDB and its creator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including lost data, lost profits, or losses arising from reliance on records or AI output — and total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the software (or $0 if you use the free tier).
9. Changes
We may update the software and these terms. Material changes to the terms will be posted here with a new effective date; continued use after that means you accept them. Feature changes will never remove your access to your own data.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
